We were asked by the kind folks from Philly Beer Scene Magazine to create a beer for their annual Beer Scene Awards ceremony, and we were happy to oblige them in 2015 with this imperial version of our seasonal Märzenbier, Creekfestbier Oktoberfest Lager, brewed with brown sugar and blueberry honey, aged in bourbon barrels for 6 months, then conditioned on blueberries.

Picked this one up at the brewery.
A - Pours a medium to dark blue hue with a thick toffee colored lacing ring and light carbonation.
S - Slightly bready/yeasty, blueberries, and some very subtle bourbon buried deep down.
T - Blueberry, honey, subtle spice, with delicate oak and bourbon.
M - Heavy medium body, very smooth and soft on the palate, no alcohol presence at all, completely hidden.
O - A very interesting beer and worth a try if you're O.K. with a high price tag in the mid-$20 range.

22 oz waxed bottle. Clear-ish brown body with a fluffy off-white head. Aromas of honey, blueberries, sugar and wet oak/bourbon. Flavor is confusing but good. Lots of oak, bourbon, sugary honey and faint blueberry. The fruitiness is more pronounced in the nose. This is so strange, but extremely delicious.
