First Kölsch to try and quite interesting. Refreshing with a hint of bitterness and sourness.

Golden yellow in color with a light haze and assertive carbonation. Poured with a moderate, creamy, bright white foam with excellent retention. Soft, pilsner malt aroma. No hop aromas. Medium light bodied with soft medium high carbonation and an incredible creamy smooth feel. Bready malt up front followed by papaya and fleshy tropical fruit flavors. Medium light bitterness followed by a dry finish. A bit hop forward for the style, but the mellow hop flavor is pleasant. Great feel and finish, but could have been a little more crisp. Tasty and very drinkable.

Kolsch isn’t the most exciting style, but I thought this one was very well done. Crisp, cracker malt with some lighter European hops. Simple, but highly drinkable and refreshing
