Can pour, taster flight. Dark brown, fast disappearing head. Malty aroma with a hint of chocolate. Taste starts with the chocolate, then dark malts and brown sugar notes.

16oz can into a pint glass. NO freshness dating.
Looks wicked good in the glass black/brown body with a few burgundy highlights. Decent off white head shrinks to a ring and covering leaving some lacing initially.
Rich malty aroma with a hint of chocolate.
Taste is deliciously rich and malty as well. A faint meaty touch with a little chocolate as the drink warms.
Mouth full, finish a lingering rich malt deliciousness
Overall, a style that isn't always easy to come by, so I appreciate Neshaminy brewing this one, and a fine job they did of it.

Very dark without any head to speak of. There is a candy sweetness on the tongue with some nutty flavors as well. Not bad.

Pours a tasty chocolate brown with both honey and ruby colored edges and a head higher than a finger. The alcohol is pretty hot on the nose; surprising since the abv on this one isn't super high. The chocolate notes poke through aggressively in the flavor profile. The maltiness isn't quite as deep as the very best offerings of this style, yet it is plenty malty. The body is dead-on for the style.
Basically, this tastes like a more mature and amped up version of Sam Adams' Chocolate Bock.

The only Doppelbock I'd had from Neshaminy was Neshaminator up to this point. I've always enjoyed it, but was happy to see a new Doppelbock offering. Had this on draft at the brwery, and I like it more than Neshaminator. It has a classic sweet, malty backbone, with some nutty undertones and a drinkability I enjoy. I don't taste much of the chocolate as they advertised brewing it with. Brought home a 4-pack that didn't last long. This opened up a bit at a slightly warmer temp.
