Frühstück Stout is our 10% ABV breakfast stout brewed with Rise Up French Roast coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, and cacao nibs, and then blended with even more cold press coffee just before packaging. The end result is a highly drinkable, high ABV, big bodied stout with a ton of coffee along with smooth chocolate, and toffee. This is a BIG beer, but drinks like an everyday session beer or cold brewed black coffee.

Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my snifter.
Beer pours a jet black color with a fluffy tan head of 1.5 cm. The foam has large cratering bubbles that develop more as the head fades to a wispy surface layer and some edging.
The aroma is huge coffee notes, with mostly roast notes and almost char. No sweetness and only the faintness bit of dark chocolate comes through. ABV is hidden and I dont get any hop presence either.
First sip reveals a thinner body than anticipated and the carbonation is fine and gentle on my palate.
Flavor is dark roast coffee and is slightly bitter because of the coffee. I feel like the beer is a little acidic as well. I dont get any sweetness and the hops are buried and so is the 10% abv.
This is a drinkable big stout, but the thinness of the body and overly acidic coffee character hold this beer back. It almost feels like a stout with actual coffee poured into my glass. Bummer, as I have started to like this brewery.
Ill try the next one but would pass if I see this again.

4-pack of 16oz cans (NO date found) picked-up at The Arundel Preserve Wine & Spirits. Looks like motor oil when poured (into a Founders KBS snifter) with a lovely mocha-colored head which succumbs to the 10% ABV. Smells a bit, and tastes more like a slightly charred dark roast mocha. Nice thick almost syrupy feel with a slight late acholol "burn". A very nice Breakfast Stout.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a Dogfish Head tulip

L: Oily black pour. Thick and viscous with a finger of tannish head. Nice ring of lacing.

S: Roasted grains and coffee. Dark chocolate and more coffee.

T.F: Rich... thick and bittersweet with espresso and dark chocolate dominating. Chicory and burned sugars but mostly coming back to the coffee and roast (I half expected some bacon/saltiness from the can artwork but no such thing). Medium to thick bodied... low carbonation. Oily and slick on the tongue.

O: A fantastic breakfast stout... heavy on the coffee and dark chocolate so if that's what you want in a stout you'll be very happy with this brew.

My second beer from this brewery, previously unknown to me.
Pours a jet black, ink like, color with a large creamy mocha head. The head displays decent retention for a high ABV beer; good looking brew overall.
The aroma opens with notes of coffee, chocolate and roasted malts. The roasty aromas are balanced with sweet notes of nutty malts, dark caramel, honey and a touch of maple syrup.
The coffee and chocolate adjuncts do a nice job of complimenting the roasted malts. There is also significant sweetness, yet not too much, as the slightly acrid black malt and bitter roasted malt flavors give off a nice espresso taste. Flavors of bittersweet dark chocolate, milk chocolate, vanilla and nutty malts. Moderate alcohol spice, without the booziness, is complimented by a floral and peppermint hops flavor.
Full bodied, creamy and a gentle carbonation that supports the soft mouthfeel. Long finish is dry and roasty. Well balanced and not boozy at all.
Nice imperial stout, not too boozy, very drinkable and tasty. I have liked both beers from this brewery.

Nice BS. First time I tried it, thought there was a tad too much char drowning out the coffee/cocoa vibe, but I've since reversed course on that. Lots of dark cocoa coming through during the second visitation. Head has a great dark cappuccino fluff look to it with a bit of an aggressive pour. Will enjoy the rest of the 4 pack, would buy again.

Neshaminy Creek Brewing Co. "Frühstück Stout"
1 Pint can without production codes or freshness dating
$5.99 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: It looks like old engine oil coming out, black! Be careful with it, it looks as if you'll need to be a bit aggressive and build a head on it but that's not the case, the gas doesn't come out as readily because it's so thick but it will. It looks like a dark chocolate milkshake over top of a completely opaque, black body. ... ... ... I haven't touched it yet, I've been waiting for a few minutes, and it seems to have excellent head retention. It smells like coffee, and dark chocolate. No surprises there. What, no bacon in this beer? Ha. OK, on to the flavor... coffee, followed by dark, bittersweet chocolate again. Why am I not surprised? Because it says it's brewed with coffee and chocolate on the label. There's some caramel in there as well, and a touch of black licorice perhaps coming from some herbal hops, but nothing more. That's OK I guess; it's a one-trick pony but it's a good trick. The bitterness is nicely balanced at least. In the mouth it's full bodied and velvety smooth. Looking back the head really did hold well, and there's some very nice lacing left behind.

$ 4.00 (Including tax)/16 oz can ($ 0.250/oz) from Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA. Reviewed 2/12/19.
Undated can. Stored in reefer at distributor. Stored at 42 degrees and served at 45 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Appearance – 4.
Body – Black, opaque.
Head – small (Maximum one cm, aggressive center pour), brown, quickly fading to a zero to one mm ring and no layer.
Lacing – None.
First pour – Very dark brown, nearly opaque.
Aroma – 4 - Initially very much chocolate; as it warms, coffee only.
Flavor – 4 – Intriguing mix of chocolate and coffee, slightly bitter. No alcohol (10% ABV) flavor. No diacetyl, no dimethylsulfide.
Palate – 4 – Full, almost creamy, soft carbonation.
Impression and interpretation – 4 - Looks like old crankcase oil, actually darker than Harviestoun’s Old Engine Oil Engineer’s Reserve. The label’s appropriate – one could indeed pig out on this and shortly be wallowing around.

Solid black color. Body is just above average with carbonation between low and medium. Overall a very decent feel to the beer
Aroma is its strongest quality with plenty of roasted malt , roasted coffee beans, espresso , black coffee. It's just about every type of coffee aroma you can imagine but the chocolate isn't as strong but does show up as dark bitter chocolate.
Taste is very roasted malt and roasted coffee beans forward. It has a very small sweetness to it which is nice with coffee bitterness.
Overall it's an excellent beer but you have to be in a coffee mood before you crack one of these open. If you are you won't be disappointed
