Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company "Rotation Nation"
$2.50/4 oz. at the brewery on 14 April 2018

Notes: Listed as an unfiltered NEIPA with Galaxy, Centennial, and Eureka hops. It's a fairly clear, just slightly hazy, deep golden/amber beneath a short head of creamy white. The aroma suggests citrus, sweet malt, berries, and sweet red apple. The flavor is quite piney, backed by pungent earth, and citrusy (orange, grapefruit pith). Surprisingly bitter, it lingers for some time in the finish. Medium bodied with a gently crisp-then smooth carbonation. It's not a bad beer at all, but it's certainly not what I think of as a New England IPA.

Thank you thebeers for this
16 oz can poured into a teku

A- A slightly hazy golden copper with a two finger white head.

S- Peach, citrus/citrus zest, some stone fruits, touch of lactose, some pine.

T- Citrus, resin, some stone fruits, a little floral, touch of biscuits.

M- Smooth, light to medium body.

O- A decent IPA, but definitely not a NEIPA like Neshaminy is calling it. There is nothing bad about this beer, but just not what is advertised.

Clear dark gold with a massive three-plus fingers of yellow-tinted head. Soapy lacing.

Gummy bears, melon, strawberry and floral hops in the nose.

They continue up front in the taste, mingling with strong burnt herbs and a moderately bitter, chalky aftertaste.

Medium bodied with modest carbonation. Just a little heft and creaminess to it.

NCBC calls this their "first truly NEIPA influenced offering," but aside from the smell, it misses the mark for the substyle in every way. It's not hazy. It's more bitter than juicy. And it doesn't have a soft, pillowy mouthfeel.

There is some interesting gummy bear mixing with the bitterness, and it may change with a week or so, but drinking it fresh less than an hour after the release, I'd call this a miss.
