Brewed for Philly Beer Week in partnership with our friends from Fruitwood Orchards called Bee(r) School. This 5% ABV Wheat Pale Ale brewed with Fruitwood Orchards orange blossom honey, malted wheat, and hopped with Azacca, El Dorado, Lemondrop and Mandarina Bavaria hops is bursting at the seems with huge notes of pear, kiwi, and lemon meringue pie. Fermented with a special blend of Norwegian ‘farmhouse’ yeast called Kveik, specifically a two strain Hornindal blend known for it’s tropical and stone fruit character, we couldn’t think of a better beer to release just in Philly Beer Week and the warm Summer nights to come. The end result is citrus, peach, and apricot explosion that’s reminiscent of driving around an orange farm in Florida or a peach grove in Georgia on a warm Spring day. Easy to drink would be an understatement.

Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company "Bee(r) School"
$6/pint @ Whole Foods Market, South Street, Philadelphia on 2 June 2018
Notes: Cloudy orange body beneath a finger-thick head of white foam. Very good head retention and lacing. Aroma of tropical fruits including orange, lemon, peach, and apricot as well as sharp apple and pear over a softly grainy and somewhat wheaty malt base. The flavor follows in the same way. Median bitterness with a dry, fruity finish. Medium leaning towards medium light in body and crisp. Enjoyable.
