Gose style with blood orange and sea salt.

A: Slightly rustic orange coloring maintains a consistent good clarity. The dirty white head forms a one inch covering with a slight resistance falling to a frothy covering. Quick releasing macro bubbles travel swiftly throughout in a sparse and sporadic form.

S: Touches of sea salt are quick to be had on the initial nose, followed by a pronounce amount of said blood orange. Some yeasty pear and banana, while the initial sea salt as since softened. The blood orange however has maintained a strong presence throughout.

T: Salty blood orange flavor best describes the opening sip. A good bite of citrusy blood orange awareness with yeasty pear fruit and a sharply defined but rounded acidity. Softy fresh hops with a sweet and tart mixture.

M: Mouthful was softly acidic, slippery feel with only a slight carbonation texture. Turns frothy on longer holds with a medium weight body.

O: Overall a solid easy downing gose to beat the jersey summer heat. The blood orange is prominent while the acidity is smooth and refreshing, easy to handle.

Notes via stream of consciousness: I like the name and label for this one but will I like the beer? It's a sour ale with blood orange and sea salt so unless they've made it too sour or too salty it should be fine. It's just slightly hazy but mainly clear. The golden body rests gently without a lot of bubbles rising beneath a finger's width of white foam. The aroma clearly suggests blood orange with some acidity and mineralish character behind it. The taste follows suit and there's a nice balance between the lightly sweetish golden malt and tart acidity. It doesn't seem to have any bitterness at all, not that any is needed. The orange flavor is clear, as is the salt, and I'm going to say they've nailed the perfect balance here. The head has dropped at this point, and there's almost nothing left behind in the way of lacing but that's to be expected of sour beers. In the mouth it's medium bodied with a moderate carbonation that's compensated to a certain extent by a little bit of bite from the acidity. It's certainly easy to drink, and quite refreshing. Additionally, at 4.9% ABV it's not so strong that you couldn't have a few during a ball game, fishing excursion, or whatever summer event you enjoy. Nicely done.

Fairly average fruited sour beer. A glassful of foam on the initial pour, but the smell was appealing.
