Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is hazy, murky, gold, head is off white with fine bubbles, head presents 1/2 inch thick, then dissipates to nothing.
Smell is citrus pith, citrus juice, orange/grapefruit blend, moderate malt, some hoppy notes of pine and bitterness, pretty sweet and candied.
Taste sweet candied citrus, citrus pith, orange/grapefruit blend, some maltiness but more base with some light honey, some pine and floral notes, candy sweetness finishes.
Mouthfeel is lower carbonation, quite sweet but countered by the bitterness, slight drying from strength.
Overall a sweet but bitter DIPA that hides its big strength; the cans seem to have variation with the dryer ones a bit more drinkable than the more sweeter ones.

A - Opaque dark orange color with thin, bubbly lacing.
S - Candy citrus sweet orange on the nose that smells alot like TANG (for those who remember that), and juicy sweet red grapefruit.
T - Sweet red grapefruit, orange, and orange peel. Long, lingering juicy orange and citrus after the sip. Finishes on the sweeter side
M - Big medium body.
O - Tastes a little too artificial for my liking...almost like actual fruit juice was poured into the kettle. Let the hops do the work.

16oz can into a pint glass. NO freshness dating.
From the can. "Double India Pale Ale with Grapefruit and Orange".
Body looks the part. Thick orange juice color. Unfortunately the head doesn't retain at all, hence no lacing.
Dull orange juice aroma.
On tasting, the orange is the dominant flavor, grapefruit coming in on the back end. There is a mild dankness floating in the background. Abv very apparent.
Mouth close to full, finish is where the grapefruit shines, light citrus bitterness.
Overall, pretty standard New England dipa. A little less orange might be better.
