This is the beer you’re looking for! The Force is strong with our brand new Single Hop IPA featuring one of New Zealand’s finest, Kohatu. This particular variety imparts a complex woodsy and resinous character to a classic West Coast-style IPA. Double dry-hopped, Kohatu-D2 features enticingly fresh aromas of tropical fruits and a relatively low bitterness. Don’t everybody thank us at once.

It's an American IPA brewed using only New Zealand hops. Apparently, it's new, as there's little background information available at this time. Two chilled twelve ounce cans are emptied into a clear glass liter mug for observation. First impressions are negative, based on the ridiculous stark white and foamy head. It recedes unevenly and gives every indication that this will be disappointingly without much body, nor malt contributions. Lackluster glass lacing supports that suspicion. The color is a very light amber. It's translucent to the level of most American adjunct lagers. There's no good aroma to greet the nose, neither. What's there is vaguely hoppy and practically maltless. The drinking experience is just like expected. There's very little body, no true malt inclusion and even the headlined single hops are unimpressive. Those hops are just good enough to keep this one slightly ahead of the list of commercial lagers, repeat, just good enough. Yet, they're mild, so this lacks even a hop bite. Sad to think that the Kohatu hops came all the way to Pennsylvania to end up in this.
