Poured from a 16 oz can into a tulip. This pours a beautiful viscous onyx color with beautiful thick tan head. Subtle notes of coffee, roasted malt and a very faint hop aroma. The taste is fu bodied. Coffee, chocolate and a perfect hop bite. Moderate to full mouthfeel with perfect carbonation. Overall, this is an excellent Imperial Oatmeal Stout’

There's a good amount of roasted barley malt in the air, immediately after a pint can was cracked open. Then a little more, as all sixteen ounces from the can were transferred into a clear glass liter mug. The brew is black coffee brown. It's opaque and relatively bright. Not much of a tan head was created by the pour. There may be some hops behind the roasted malt, but it's secondary, at best. The taste is classic oatmeal stout. It's dominated by the bittering brought by the roasting, abetted by some hops and even a mild presence of alcohol. Some oatmeal stouts, even Imperial Stouts have tastes that are softened by the added grain. Not this one. This is one bold stout in flavor, yet the oatmeal still contributes to its body and smoothness. All the usually notes of a good Imperial Stout are there; some black coffee, a little dark chocolate and maybe a little black licorice. Despite its strong flavor, this can go down very quickly. There's almost no glass lacing, but this is an Imperial Oatmeal Stout. Neshaminy Creek brews plenty of decent beers and a few maybe not so. This time, they've gone well past decent and into the one of the better in its class level.

Purchased at Bound Beverage, Warrington, PA. $14.50/4pk, 16oz cans
Pours a nearly jet black color. Totally opaque. A dark beige colored, one finger head on the initial pour.
Aromas of roasted malts.
Flavors of coffee, chocolate, caramel, deep roasted malts along with a slight sweetness. A slightly tangy bitterness. The ABV is well hidden.
Smooth but thinner consistency. Medium carbonation.
Overall, a very tasty stout. Not the best stout I’ve had but highly drinkable and worth a re-visit. Nice job, Neshaminy Creek…Cheers!
