A - Hazy dark orange gold pour with dense, soapy lacing.

S - Aroma is on the subdued side with citrus, tropical fruit, pineapple, and mango.

T - Grapefruit, citrus, some subtle spicy fruit rind, a very small hit of earthiness, passionfruit, peach, pineapple, and piney bitterness on the back side. Some malt pokes through up front but quickly gets beaten down with alot of hops.

M - Big medium body with prickly carbonation.

O - A solid D-IPA!

Pours a hazy dirty straw color with a finger of head. This nose has notes of oranges and lemons with some darkness on the back end.

There's a sweet grainy quality to the flavor profile. A piney bitterness takes over on the finish. The body is slightly heartier than the average for this style.

Quite the reasonable pour that emptied the entire contents of a pint can into a clear glass liter mug. With significant wheat and oats in the wort, that was a pleasant surprise. There's a proper almost stark white head on top of slightly brown dark amber liquid. It's hazy, but not completely opaque. With a modest aroma overall, a mostly citrusy and faintly piney hoppiness dominates the vague starches. Surprisingly, the taste is much more balanced. It's sweet, but more of a whole grain sweetness than something shallow. The pine aspect catches up to and maybe surpasses the citrus in the hop flavor contribution, which prevails over the backbone. For this style, that's a good thing and should make most hop-heads happy. This brewery has offered several very good Imperial IPAs, including Blitzkrieg and Shape Of Hops To Come. This might be the best of the lot. The body is supple and smooth, yet it slides down lightly. Alcohol is noticed, but it works into the overall taste nicely. Although there was virtually no glass lacing, the modest head sustained. On its own, this is a very good IIPA; but, what might make it even more delicious is, like the aforementioned labels, it costs a few dollars less a four-pack than most, at least in the Philadelphia region.
