I think someone switched beers on me when I wasn't looking. On tap at Bull's Head in Lititz. First few sips were just as I would expect from a coffee stout. Good coffee aroma, velvety feel and overall coffee caramel chocolate taste. Halfway through velvet changed to carbonated (is this even possible?) the coffee goodness left - though the aroma is still there. I is confused. It turned into coffee soda. Oh well. Worse things have happened.

L - pitch black with a finger of khaki-colored head
S - Pretty good white chocolate with coffee and some roast
T - Flavors from the nose are muted, but still here.
F - Good feel for 6%. Finishes clean.
O - Not good for dessert on its own, but would pair nicely with vanilla ice cream or in a float.

I am always scouring the shelves when I arrive at the Friendly Greek Bottle Shop (FGBS), here in Lancaster, PA! Why? Because virtually anything CAN become a single upon request! To say that they are flexible & accommodating puts Stretch Armstrong to shame! Ooh, something new from Evil Genius B.C.?!? Throw it inna box!
From the Bottle: "White Chocolate Mocha Latte Ale with Coffee and Natural Flavor Added".
I Pop!ped the cap & began my pour without any reservation. It evinced a pseudo-cascade that formed just under two fingers of fizzy, foamy, rocky, deep-tan/light-brown head with the lousiest retention in recent memory! 8=( At least, it left some nice lacing in its wake. Color was solidly Black/Opaque (SRM = 44), allowing ZERO light penetration. Nose smelled like one of those oddball combinations that Starbucks serves up for people who don't really want to drink coffee. Yes, it was identifiable as coffee-driven, but the adjuncts were throwing it out of kilter. It had that unusual sweetness of white chocolate as well as a nebulous milky quality. Hmm. Mouthfeel was medium, no great shakes, but at least it was not watery. The taste was quite sweet, like coffee with a LOT of sugar! Whew. I could easily taste the coffee, but the waxy white chocolatiness was getting in the way of everything. Hmm. Finish was sweet, too sweet for my taste, but as always, YMMV.

Too much vanilla for my taste in a stout.

12 ounce bottle poured into a tulip glass
L---Deep, dark brown color. Completely opaque. Thick, light brown head with ok retention and very nice lacing.
S---Sweetened coffee is the dominant smell. I'm looking for white chocolate, but I'm not getting it.
T---Sweet coffee/mocha is predominant. A bit of a one-trick pony, but it's a decent trick.
F---Creamy, but a little bit watered down.
O---Evil Genius has let me down many times. I keep going for the catchy names. This one is a respectable effort on their part. I wouldn't seek it out, but Wifey really liked it.
