This beer is our first to introduce Chicago to the new hop scene thriving in Germany. We feature two new varieties in this beer – Melona & Mandirina. Enjoy this easy drinking pale ale with its bright citrus & melon flavors.

Had this on-tap and then again from the growler. Served in an Alchemist pint glass.
A - Generous white foam settles to a solid cap, thick collar, and plenty of lacing. Transparent orange-amber body.
S - A nice mix of hops and doughy malts. The hop character is interesting; somewhere between traditional continental hops and American C hops; there's tangerine and grapefruit zest, but a grassy and slightly spicy undercurrent with them. Malt is sweet, with biscuits and toff mixed in.
T - Taste is quite similar, with perhaps a bit more malt sweetness and fruity hops, and less overt spiciness. Bitterness also seems more restrained than you're typical German hops.
M - Medium body with surprisingly zesty carbonation for a growler. Creamy, soft texture, not obvious alcohol. Lightly sticky finish.
D - I liked this quite a bit; it's one of the more successfully local beers made with these newfangled German hops. As with most DryHop offerings, I could use a bit more hop intensity and a bit less balance, but it was pretty easy to put down 1L on my own over the course of an evening.
