32oz crowler, filled on 10.15, poured into a DryHop Brewers 10oz nonic pint glass.
The beer pours a very hazy and turbid light amber color, golden and copper hues with a nice foamy white head, good retention and tons of soapy lace. The aroma is pleasant, very juicy, lots of tropical fruits, citrus with some more bitter pine, green and grassy earthiness and a nice spice note from the rye leads to some softer pale grain. The flavors are good, plenty of juicy hops up front, loads of citrus and tropical pineapple and passionfruit with a nice backbone of resinous pine and dank weedy hops and the rye really sticks the landing here. The mouthfeel is good, coating, medium body that some nice heft to it, lively carbonation with a nice crisp and dry finish.
Verdict: A very nice Rye IPA from DryHop. Juicy, tangy, crisp, bitter and I really enjoy the snap of rye in this one. Nice balance without being overly aggressive in any one direction and it avoids the pitfall of being super sweet as many NEIPAs can be.
