On-tap at DryHop. 10oz serving.
A - White foam lingers, eventually setting to a thick creamy cap. Transparent pale golden body, with small specks of lace on the sides of the glass.
S - Initially quite floral, although citrus zest and flesh intensify as the beer warms. Pils malt is unmistakable, giving this a buttered biscuit and bready malt character. Good balance, with nice hop intensity.
T - The taste is a bit sweeter, with more of a sugary malt and cereal grain character in addition to biscuit. Citrus and herbal hop flavors persist, leading to a mild hop bitterness that seems about right for the listed 60 IBU.
M - Medium body, pleasant lower-moderate carbonation, a slightly grainy quality to the texture, and a dry, crisp finish.
D - Solid beer, although I wish the project didn't use 100% pils malt. Amarillo was a good choice and imparted some really nice aromas and flavors; I could have used a bit more flavor-wise, but on the whole an enjoyable hoppy golden ale.
