The Cousin of Shark Meets Hipster is making an appearance at DHB. This unfiltered American wheat ale is still chock full of Galaxy goodness, but this time a little easier drinking for this end of Summer heat wave.

1L growler from the source. Served in a tulip.
A - White foam settles to a thin cap, thicker collar, and spotty lacework. Murky, pale orange body that is pretty typical of the pale wheat idiom.
S - Lots of fruity, tropical Galaxy hops impart notes of musky guava and passion fruit, with perhaps a touch of orange flesh for good measure. Light notes of wheat and mildly sweet pale malts. Not overly complicated, but pretty nice.
T - The taste is not quite as potent, although it's still heavy on the tropical fruit flavors, with more of a tangerine vibe. Bitterness seems dialed down compared to Shark Meets Hipster, and this also avoids the mild astringency of that beer. Some nebulous grain and sweet pale malts in the background.
M - Creamy, chewy, medium body with good heft for the listed 5%. Dry, with a bit of grainy wheat in the finish. Pleasant, medium-low carbonation.
D - This was quite good, and I thought it was an improvement on the (nearly) year-round Shark Meets Hipster. Not sure if this was a mistake beer or a result of ingredient scarcity, but I found it easier to drink, with good hop flavors and restrained bitterness. We easily crushed the 1L growler.
