Dirty hippies need to be rooted out & destroyed. Drinking this delicious French farmhouse ale helps accomplish this feat. How? We don’t know, but this brew is filled with malty earthy goodness (just like hippies). Don’t forget kids; Jerry Berry’s dead.

1L growler shared with Lily LeBlanc over some vegan deliciousness at Vegetarian Express. Served in a swanky plastic cup.
A - White foam settles to a collar, leaving behind splotchy lacework. Hazy amber body.
S - Very dirty, earthy, and phenolic yeast character; one of the more expressive Belgian strains I've encountered locally. Spicy, peppery, and mildly funky, with a touch of sweet malt and a nebulous allspice quality mixed in. Get's a bit sweeter as it warms, with notes of green apple and cherimoya.
T - A tiny bit sweeter, with more bready malts and less of the aggressively spicy yeast character. There's still a good deal with spice character to the yeast, and it meshes with with the sweeter apple puree malt bill. Lightly vinous tang in the finish.
M - Dry, grainy, and toasty, with pleasant medium-low carbonation. Clean finish, and surprising hefty for the listed 6%.
D - The aroma is a bit too dirty for my tastes; perhaps dial back the yeast character, either through temperature or a second strain? Otherwise it's a solid malty Belgian with a fair bit of depth to it. Easily finished the growler with a friend.
