A - Beautiful bright orange body, hazy but letting plenty of light through, with a moderate white head, mild thin lined lacing.

S - A big tropical fruit nose, mango and pineapple, pine, and a definite dank resin hit.

T - Bright and full, juicy peach and lush orange creme soda, a sweet malty core, and a moderate bitter bite in the close.

M - Slightly sticky but with just enough carbonation to scrub, and a dry finish.

O - A satisfying and delicious pale that flirts with IPA-style hopping. Superb.

12oz can, no date (but I assume a recent canning since it just recently showed up in Dayton area). Served in a tulip glass.

Appearance: Translucent golden yellow with a hint of orange. Great looking 1/2" thick rocky off-white head with some fine islands of lacing noted.

Smell: Lots of tropical fruit - mango and pineapple, some lemon citrus as well. Very appealing.

Taste: Nicely hoppy - bitter, but not aggressively so. Bready malt for balance. Hops are citrus and tropical fruit again. Nothing really distinct in all the hops, but tasty.

Mouthfeel: A little too high in carbonation - approaching fizzy but not quite. Sticky on the teeth. Good thickness.

Overall / Drinkability: A very well done APA. Quality at times has been hit or miss at DBC, but this one is well crafted and would definitely be appealing to hopheads. Good aroma and I would give it higher marks for appearance if it was more filtered, but I hear filtering may knock out some of the hop flavor and aroma, so maybe some APAs will just be cloudy from now on. Overall - pretty good and something I would look for again, especially if on tap. The overcarbonation I think is the only downside I see to this beer.

Label says 'double dry hopped pale ale'. Smells like a fresh opened bag of hops. Crisp, refreshing pale ale with an aggressive hop bite of pine/resin. Packs a lot of flavor for a 5.5% abv beer. A great beer if you want your hop fix and are planning to drink 4 or 5 in a given night.
