Served in a Tulip stout glass.
Appearance: Light amber with a solid glowing haze. The new sign the store was emphasizing the unfiltered lineup of beers, and this one shows being unfiltered. Initial 1/4" off white rocky head, with plenty of small strands of persistent lacing.
Smell: Surprisingly very little smell. A bit of a hint of something citrus and herbal, but not a lot.
Taste: For what it missed in smell it more than made up for in taste. Nicely hoppy - citrus and grapefruit hops abound, with a nice rye spicy bite in the middle and at the end as some more grapefruit and citrus hops come in at the finish. Nicely bookended by hops with a good hop start and finish.
Mouthfeel: Just right carbonation, with noticeable hop oils and good thickness. Very smooth.
Overall / Drinkability: Dangerously drinkable - I easily could have had another if I didn't have to get up early tomorrow. One of the better beers I've had from this brewery to date. Very well done although the lack of aroma was puzzling. I hope they put this in the rotation again soon.
