a very mild golden lager, sort of built like a helles, a nice beer and a total crusher among some much heavier and more ambitious menu offerings in here. nearly perfectly clear yellow brew with a little more body than a lot of these have, but nice and dry. i get a very european or even specifically german grain and lager yeast complexion to this, not quite pure pils type, but similar and simple, clean and fresh and old school, without a lot of hops at all, and highly carbonated like i enjoy in the style. slightly floral to me, delicate even though it has some body, and a mineral profile as well, like i can taste the brewing water here in a good way. simple lagers like this are hard to execute at this level of quality, this one is really good, and it gives me even more respect for city star, who has impressed me across a number of styles now. i could have sat at the bar in the taproom here and drank these indefinitely. a solid and well made four season lager with a little european flare, nice brew!
