On tap at Alibi Room, Vancouver.
Pale gold with white threads. 3.75
Lots of pear, a bit of spice, and pencil erasers. 3.75
Thread of wheat, lots of yellow apple, kiwi, and strawberry, plus a big whack of coriander and spice. 3.75
Crisp, light, some oil. 3.75
Summery! But lots of big sticky fruit that almost scuppers it. Spicy, too, so a bit big. Interesting notes like grilled watermelon, but at the cost of drinkability. 3.75

16oz glass at Beer Revolution YEG Oliver, ironically after some bullshit po-po experience - yeah.
This beer appears a slightly hazy, pale golden yellow hue, with a thin cap of weakly frothy and bubbly off-white head, which leaves a few random specks of remote islet lace around the glass as things quickly degenerate.
It smells of bready and doughy pale and wheat malt, acrid yeast, subtle orchard fruit - apple, and plums, mostly - white pepper dust, and mild leafy, kind of perfumed hops. The taste is semi-sweet, grainy pale malt, a bready wheat cereal character, zesty and peppery yeast, muddled pale orchard fruit, and more earthy, leafy, and still quite floral and booze-fueled hops.
The carbonation is nice and testy in its heavy-set frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and sort of smooth, the heady yeast taking a well measured pound of flesh out of it all. Things finish near-dry and kind of tart, the yeast and battened-down fruitiness carrying the day.
One of the better offerings that I've so far enjoyed from this all-too literal West Coast brewery. Mostly fruity, dry, and yet challenging to the palate, and a generally pleasant tipple on another hot and kind of muggy summer afternoon - so, of course I will!

Townsite Brewing '7800 Saison' @ 6.5% , served from a 650 ml bottle purchased for $7
A-pour is a pale yellow from the bottle to a clear pale gold in the glass with a small white head leaving a minimal lace along the
S-bitter Begium yeast
T-has that bitter Belgian yeast start that lingers thru-out till you swallow
MF-low/mild carbonation , has that full bodied feel
Ov-if you can get past the huge bitter Belgian yeast taste , maybe , for me a one and done (almost a drainpour)

the name references the distance in KM between Powell River and the brewers hometown in Belgium. A tasty saison that is big on flavour and also a full mouthfeel which I enjoy for the style. Townsite is really stepping up their game and this is a good example of what they are up to these days
