Absolutely delicious after all these years. Rich malts, moderately sweet, spicy rye, with that sweet calvados coming through. Smooth and rich, a real sipper.

12oz can from Steve. Dark ruddy brown pour, small bubbly head. This a big maltbomb. Aroma and taste feature the sweet, earthy malts, brown sugar. Light fruity notes. And then theres's the big boozy finiah. Wow~

Time to split a 32 oz. crowler with the wife on a rowdy Wednesday night.
Boss Jacket could double as an anesthetic. Booze coats the mouth, throat, stomach, & soon afterwards a serene sense of well-being washes over the imbiber. Gently whacking my head against the wall proves painless, indeed, quite amusing. Surprisingly strong brandy waltzes with a big CEO of rye, scattering spiciness all across my innards. The base barleywine kicks out caramel, toffee, providing a professionally built framework. Scattershot of oak, burnt oak, brown sugar, hair pulling, brick-scraped-leather round out a robust experience. Heavy, filling, harsh, & am putting down a pint of this like it’s Coca Cola during a pissing competition.
Revolution. An elite barrel program that’s risen in my ratings to the top five in the country & this is no exception. Fantastic beer that borders on the elite.

Pretty smooth considering the ABV and barrel aging. Nice dark fruit aftertaste. Maybe some cherry in there? Some of the Rev brews are thinner than I'd like, but you can't beat their quality and value in barrel aging. Love the 4pk cans!

Released December 2019; drank 9/9/20 @ Lyla's.
While I found this to be a bit harsh, booze heat-wise, on draft when it was released, this has already mellowed into a real nice sipper. Leather, stone fruit & caramel with a much more mild Whistle Pig bite. Oak emerged as this warmed.
Hope to have this bad boy again!

Thanks to The_game for this one, from the recent Rookies BIF #4. 12oz can poured into 14oz teku. Poured a very dark and solid brown, just about black really, color (much darker than any other Barleywine I've had), with just a thin cap of tan head that immediately dissipated, and left no lacing
The aroma was big and bold, with some base sweetness, some barrel, and touch of fruit. All that topped off by a noticeable alcohol hit.
Fairly similar on the tongue, lots of different components, and a strong booziness.
The body was smooth, even, had low carbonation that would help bring some life to the body, and a sweet finish.
Drinkability was good for such a boozy beer, but, again, would have been helped with some more carb.
Overall, a pretty nice brew, worth checking out if you see it.
