Collaboration with Hop Butcher For The World
Part two of our collaboration with our friends at Hop Butcher For The World is a West Coast-style Pale Ale using the same mash as Superstructure with a lower gravity wort. Amarillo, Chinook, Citra, Cashmere, Cryo Citra, and Cryo Centennial hops crowd the room at 7 pounds per barrel. Smooth, clean, and crackling with hops, the Base encompasses a massive foundation of flavors.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 8/6/2020. But mostly in the fridge for it's life. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy golden amber color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Minimal lacing on the glass, with streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Gusher as expected, held it over the sink. I tried to keep it refrigerated, but this is well out of prime. Aromas and flavors of big red grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, lime, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, mango, honeydew melon, guava, berries, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, toast, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate pine/rind/woody bitter finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced creamy/grainy malt and sticky/resinous hop mouthfeel. Fairly crisp on long lingering drying resins after the finish, with mild astringency. Mild warmth of 6% and lingering hop burn after the finish. Definitely quite earthy and vegetal on hops after 2 years; but it was still very dank and earthy on hops with a clean malt backbone. The character of Amarillo, Chinook, Citra, Cashmere, Citra, and Centennial was still good, I would assume it was better fresh, but all things considered I am just going to give it a 4 across the board.

I got a 4pck of this beer from the Binnys in Naperville, Illinois. It poured a hazy golden with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had citrus and pine notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bitter citrus mixed with some pine resin. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a very good beer.

Haven't had too many west coast APA/IPAs recently. And seeing it was a revolution collab with Hop Butcher sealed the deal for me.
A: Poured from a can dated 08/06/20 has a really pretty golden orange and is completely clear which isn't something I have seen recently in the IPAs I've been drinking.
A: citrus, pine resin, pineapple and cracker malts. Has a clean smell to it that is reminiscent of an OG West Coast IPA.
T: taste is nice and expressive with pineapple, grapefruit, dank resin, malt sweetness melding well together. Along with a healthy bitter bite.
F: has a nice lingering soapy bitterness that is true to style. Some dankness lingers as well.
O: This is a pretty good beer that could probably be considered an IPA but regardless it is worth checking out.

16 ounce can into a tulip glass. Canned 8/6/20, had 8/24/20.
Pours a bright golden yellow, very clear- looks like a lager, with a two inch foamy head with good retention and some foamy lacing. Aromas of orange, pine, grapefruit, light pineapple, light malt. The flavor is a little more dynamic than the aroma: grapefruit, orange, pine, some lemon, some malt and biscuit. Somewhat grassy as it warms, with a good amount of hop bitterness midway through the finish, that lingers. Smooth, crisp, fairly dry, refreshing, a very good lighter body, well carbonated.
Bright and fresh aromas, excellent flavors and feel. The clean hop bitterness packs a punch, and apparently makes this a West Coast APA. APA or IPA, it’s solid and very enjoyable.

16oz can, dated 08.06.2020, poured into a stemless wine glass.
The beer pours a very nice golden color, honey hues with a nice clear appearance, foamy finger or two of white head, moderate retention and excellent lacing. The aroma is pleasant, really clean and crisp hoppiness, pine, grapefruit peel, light citrus juice, mild floral bouquet with a great biscuit base, really classic west coast flavors. The flavors are good, bright citrus, bitter grapefruit peel, doughy pale grain, mineral water with a lingering pine and grassy hop flavor. The mouthfeel is good, coating and crisp with a lively medium body that finishes easily with a lightly dry bite.
Verdict: A nice west coast pale ale from Revolution and Hop Butcher. Almost reads like a SNPA clone, really clean and crisp flavors, super refreshing and sessionable.

Pours a rather clear bronze/gold hue . Lightly creamy lacing. Smell is dank, piney, bitter. Taste is more of the same. Crisp, mouth watering, medium body. More of a Revolution style than Hop Butcher. Pretty good.
