Ah, another less than fresh sample from Saveon. And a medium priced one - around four bucks with tax.
It pours fully clouded, dirty pale yellow with consistent fizz. The aroma is dirty laundry - dog bed - nasty. Right for the style! Not as bad as some, I guess. The taste is probably a bit toned down from a fresher sample - sweet, skunkiness. It goes down pretty easily and sits nicely.
Recommended, if you want this sort of thing, this is still hanging drinkable more than 60 days after canning, but it isn't the experience would have expected when I placed my remote order. I will be happy when the Covid apocalypse is over and I will go in the store and pick my own brews.

Appearance - The beer poured a hazy orange color with a frothy white head.
Smell - The nose was sweet, but not fruity. I was hoping it might smell like weed.
Taste - The beer was more juicy than dank. If a beer is to celebrate legal recreational use, it needs to be dank. As the beer warmed, it was more bitter. The finish was slightly sweet orange.
Mouthfeel - Carbonation combined with the fairly aggressive hop profile for a punch. It was smooth enough that I suspected lactose.
Overall - Even though I was a little disappointed, this is very drinkable.

Canned on 12/22/20. 16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours a hazy and cloudy yellowish golden; creamy white head that falls leaving great retention and sticky lacing. The aromas have citrus along with some floral notes. Malts are there. The flavors follow the nose. More citrus. Hints of orange along with some mild hints of grapefruit. Subtle hints of pineapple in the mix. Some fresh grass coming through. Hints of crackers and fresh bread. Subtle sweetness. Low bitterness. Malts do their thing. Finishes juicy. Alcohol is well hidden. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate to active carbonation. It's slick, sharp, fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.
This is a solid New England IPA. It might not be the craziest or even my favorite one from Revolution, but it's not bad at all or anything like that. It's clean, refreshing, enjoyable and well crafted.

Canned 12.22.20 and poured into a tulip glass
L: Gold, overripe pineapple yellow color with a white head (with a thin white residual head that sticks around)
S: Honestly, based on feedback from last year's batch, I expected to be blown away by a dank aroma... but I'm not getting much of that. Not very aromatic altogether, although there is citrus, pine, and a touch of dankness as it warmed
T: A nice citrus, hoppy, piney flavor with only a touch of sweetness, which is welcome, albeit unexpected in an 8% DDH hazy IPA. Drinks more like a 5-6% beer. Again, wouldn't say this is a "dank" beer through and through, but there's a bit of that here too. Bitter aftertaste.
F: creamy, medium body
O: Not a terribly aromatic or flavorful beer (as far as NEIPAs that are characterized by overt fruity/tropical sweetness), but the piney, bitter taste is solid and feel is great

Tasted in a snifter from draft at Kuma's Corner on January 21, 2020. Revolution celebrates the legalization of recreational marijuana in Illinois with the dankest IPA they could brew. Strata, Eureka and Columbus hops create an unmistakable flavor profile and very solid vibes.

Designed to celebrate the legalization of marijuana in Illinois, Legal Hero is an interesting take on the hazy IPA craze. It legitimately does provide some very dank notes, unusual for a NEIPA, particularly on the palate. I appreciate this going a different direction from the ubiquitous juicebombs out there. This also showcases Revolution's growing skill in the category, with a very nice, pillowy-soft mouthfeel.
