Poured from a 19.2oz stovepipe can into a Mikerphone tumbler. Pours dark brown with a decent amount of darker khaki colored foam head. Dark fruits and toffee on the nose. Some spirit barrel. Not sure the rum comes through as dominant or anything more than another spirit than bourbon. Rich caramel and toffee in the taste with dark fruits and vanilla in the finish. Full mouthfeel. Higher carbed like Rev usually is. Solid. Not really any better than VSOJ or Double Barrel VSOJ but that’s stiff competition.

I really loved VSOJ so I had to try this one. It still taste likes a Barleywine with the flavor of caramel, toffee, and dried fruits. And the rum was not overpowering but it was definitely there. I think the rum gave it a certain sweetness that worked out nicely.

Had this on draft 11/20/21 @ the Taproom.
Black appearance.
Almost no head or lace.
Rum, oak & caramel notes in the nose.
Thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Rum, oak, caramel & sweet booze heat flavors.
Too sweet, but interesting.

Lotsa rum and oak - it’s like liking a rum barrel in the best way possible. Sweet, spicy, spiced rum notes. there is almost a fernet like character to the spices. Delicious.
