A single Heaven Hill barrel of sweet component Barleywine and dry component Ryewine aged three years, plus a couple hosefuls of twice-barreled dry Barlewine, just as a treat. Cooked sugar, vanilla, and enough maple to warrant dual citizenship in Canada make an amicable ruckus before a prompt finish compliments of three years resting in American oak.

This was a Ryewine and Barleywine blend that really worked well. It was my favorite of the variants that were at the taproom. The maple was very subtle which was nice as I'm not big on maple. Lots of flavors here. Caramel, toffee, raisins create a nice sweetness on the front end with just a small touch of maple at the end. The sweetness is the perfect amount to balance out the booze. Excellent.

Had this on draft @ the Taproom on 11/20/21.
Muddy brown appearance.
Almost no head or lace.
Caramel, fudge, oak & bourbon notes in the nose.
Sticky, thick mouthfeel.
Same notes on the tongue as the nose; slight oxidization, but still a treat.

On draft at Rev. Holy shit. Dark fruit, raisin, toffee, brown sugar, caramelized sugar, maple, smooth not hot at all, but a sipper. Like a flavor orgasm. Might be the best barleywine I've ever had from Rev (or elsewhere).
