This blend of sweet Ryewines were first aged in Armagnac and Woodford Double Oak barrels before being blended into a single Heaven Hill Bourbon barrel for a further forty months. Aromas of oak, dried stone fruit, and spice precede a wave of cherry pit, maple, and cocoa punctuated with a flash of tannin and alcohol.

Pours a dark black color. Thin off-white head forms on the beer but dissipates until just a thin ring of foam remains. Aroma has notes of boozy rye wine, oak, dark fruit and boozy wet oak. Taste follows the nose with notes of oak, lightly tart cherry notes, dark fruit and a strong dry tannin note. Feel is medium bodied, smooth, boozy and hot. Overall a nice beer, lovely rich notes the barrels.

Had this on draft 1/28/22 @ Revolution's Taproom.
Opaque dark brown/orange appearance.
Almost no tan head; no lace.
Oak, caramel, peanut brittle & bourbon heat notes in the nose.
Thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Big bourbon heat, caramel & oak flavors up front; faint Armagnac & peanut brittle notes on the finish.
Bruisingly boozy, but overall an interesting treat. I'd have another...
