Revolution Taproom (Chicago, Illinois) - 5/21/26 Revolution Taproom Brewery notes: Pursuit of Freedom Strawberry Lemonade. Session Sour with Lemons and Strawberries. 4.5% ABV, $7.76 with tax 16 oz draft.
Appearance: Bronze beige base, light carbonation, egg white bade head leaves soapy lacing, thin cover over the base, thicker long the rim. 3.5
Aroma: Strawberry slightly over lemon, both come and work well together. 3.75
Taste: Lemonade over strawberry in a flavor lead reversal, enjoying the blend. Bold and sweet. 4.0
Mouthfeel: Sweet, persistent lightly prickly carbonation, drinks light and easy, minor tartness fights a losing battle against the sweetness. Lemon strawberry start to finish. 4.0
Overall: Hard for me to judge these, tastes like carbonated Kool-Aid, but digging to start the session at the brewery. 4.0

Out of the can it pours a slightly hazy orange. A rough pour yielded a nice head with minimal lacing. Smells of tart strawberries which is expected, and then drifts to the lemon. Taste is sour lemon to start for the first few sips, but then after that the sweetness of strawberry takes hold. Really a nice aromatic beer that looks good in the glass too!

Revolution round 2. I decided to go for this one as both a palate cleaner and because I enjoyed their Freedom Lemonade back home, so this one has to be good. Strawberry lemonade-inspired beers, no matter how basic, have always been good. Let’s see what this one is like
Pours a cloudy deep gold with a finger of off white head that fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing
The nose displays a nice balance of sweet and tart elements. I’m picking up on aromas of jammy strawberry, lemon juice, tart raspberry, crackery malt, light orange juice, and a touch of honey
It trends a bit sweet in taste, but is still quite good for what it is. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting sweet strawberry, lemon juice, honey, crackery malt, and light orange juice. The swallow brings notes of tart raspberry, lemon juice, crackery malt, and honey
A light body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a sharp and tangy beer. Finishes neutral but still refreshing
This is solid stuff. Nothing special but I’m happy I tried it

I will happily drink this on the regular. Pulpy strawberry lemonade vibes for sure. Seriously deliciousness. This beer came out of left field. Bought multiple 4packs to go. Significantly impressed with Revolution fruit session sours.
