Witness the firepower of this fully operational Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Oatmeal Stout. Brewed with English specialty malts and the addition of flaked and malted oats to create a rich, chocolaty profile and silky mouthfeel that cloaks its considerable strength. The American oak barrels continue to build layers of complexity, reminiscent of vanilla, toasted coconut and caramel candy after aging this dark menace a full 12 months.

From City Brew Tours, filled October 1st 2021.

It pours a pitch black with a good than fine head of tan foam, not lacking in lacing.

Smells of Bourbon, chocolate, coconut, vanilla, roasted malt...lots going on here. Including a pretty strong nose of alcohol.

The taste is Bourbon, coconut, chocolate, toffee, roasted malt and vanilla. Alcohol is very noticeable but welcome.

Full bodied with the carbonation spot on. Plenty of heat but I guess not as much as when it was fresh?

Could be the (strong) beer of the year for me!

Black, thick, oily pour, small brown head fades quickly, nose says, coffee, chocolate and a healthy dose of oak and whiskey. Taste buds agree. Thick, chewy and smooth, awesome beer!
