Small draft at Rev Kedzie. Glad to see these small batch innovation beers from brewer Andy getting tapped every so often. This one was definitely a success, and I hope to see it again when the weather turns cold.
Dark reddish mahogany with bright clarity, thin layer of foam that lasts for the first couple sips and departs.
Aromas of dried fruits, cranberry, raisin, prune, nutty, fruitcake with a unique sweet smoky quality.
Taste is rich with dried fruit and nuts, toffee, trace maple reduction, light bittersweetness of woodsmoke.
Medium bodied with supple carb, sticky sweet with a little bitterness to balance in the finish.
Overall this was a unique beer, I love rauchbiers and it satisfies the smoke craving.

I had this on draft 2/15/23 @ Revolution's Taproom.
Mostly opaque red/brown/orange appearance.
Small khaki head; no lace.
Acorn, mild campfire smoke & faint strawberry notes in the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel.
Strawberry, wood, acorn, mild campfire smoke & faint booze heat flavors.
Interesting & not too smoky. Tasty!
