Fermented on French oak and aged in a single Willet bourbon barrel for sixteen months, then finished in a single Brazilian Amburana barrel for four days, this unblended sweet component Straight Jacket boasts a blend of vanilla-laden French and American oaks, as well as a dynamic exotic wood character spanning baking spice, coconut, and eventually French toast with maple syrup as it warms.

5oz. pour at Super Stout Sunday at the Hopleaf. Dark ruby brown with very little head. Vanilla, bourbon, and brown sugar on the nose. Taste is vanilla, maple syrup, bourbon, and a hint of wood. The vanilla and maple syrup take over as it warms and the barrel remains subdued. Body is medium to thin. A bit sweet but the complex flavors make it worth it.

I had this on draft 4/15/23 @ Revolution's Taproom.
Opaque brown/orange appearance.
Small tan head; frothy lace.
Coconut, butterscotch & bourbon notes in the nose.
Thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Coconut, wood, butterscotch & bourbon flavors.
A bit sweet, but interesting & enjoyable.
