This lean, brawny, Thundertaker-heavy blend of Rye & Milk Stouts was aged in Limestone Branch and Heaven Hill barrels before receiving a “smooch” of freshly roasted Dark Matter coffee. Cocoa, toffee, and vanilla spring from the glass before each booze-and-oak-punctuated sip.

Had on tap at Revolution for the Deep Wood release of 10/20/23. Certainly the winner of the release. Thundertaker is probably their best stout to begin with, and this version is even better. Strong barrels, lots of rye and coffee. Delicious.

I had this on draft 10/20/23 @ Revolution's Taproom.
Black/brown appearance.
No head; no lacing remained.
Marshmallow, medium roast coffee bean & chocolate notes in the nose.
Creamy, thick mouthfeel.
Marshmallow & rich vanilla flavors up front; chocolate & mild cream notes on the finish.
Borderline amazing. Hope I can have it again...
