This slightly sweeter component Deth's Tar spent one year in a Jim Beam Distiller's Masterpiece Portuguese PX sherry finishing cask. Omnipresent bourbon-derived American oak shares the spotlight with softer notes of PX sherry and French oak, while the base brings those familiar notes of dried stone fruit and vanilla.

Had on tap at Revolution for the Deep Wood release of 10/20/23. The sherry barrel shows well, with some bourbon notes still present. Good amount of oak, too.

I had this on draft 10/20/23 @ Revolution's Taproom.
Black appearance.
No head; no lacing remained.
Cardboard & fresh earth notes in the nose.
Thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Cardboard flavors up front; some fresh earth notes on the finish.
One of the rarest things in the world...a specialty Deep Wood beer that is fairly awful.
