Aged in a blend of Weller, Blantons and Stagg Jr. bourbon barrels, then re-barreled in Buffalo Trace with additional single-origin Troncais Forte French Oak, this singular example of Double Barrel V.S.O.D. has a bouquet more like a heavily oaked French red than a bourbon barrel stout.

Had at the Deep Wood release of 11/10/23. Delicious. Tons of oak and a strong barrel presence, with big notes of vanilla and tobacco. I think this was my winner for the day.

Crowler filled 11/16/23; drank 11/20/23 @ the Yarchives.
Black/brown appearance.
An even pour yielded a small tan head; no lacing remained.
Fudge, red wine, oak, vanilla & mild bourbon heat notes in the nose.
Creamy, thick mouthfeel.
Chocolate, red wine, waffle cone, oak & mild bourbon heat flavors.
DANGEROUSLY drinkable, and insanely flavorful considering the A.B.V. A miracle of the brewer's alchemy.
