This V.S.O.D. was triple barrel aged in Weller, Blanton's and 1792 casks, given a double dose of single origin Troncais Forte French oak and finished in a Brazilian Amburana barrel.

Had at the taproom for the Deep Wood release of 1/26/24. This was the runaway winner of this Deep Wood event. The Amburana is more baking spice in this beer, with only a hint of cinnamon instead of it being pronounced. A tasty change of pace.

I had this on draft 1/4/24 @ the Hopleaf.
Opaque brown/black appearance.
Minimal tan head; almost no lacing remained.
Incredible wood complexity; English barleywine-like texture, red wine flavors and a luxurious stout backbone. As it warmed, fresh coconut emerged, as well as a (surprisingly mild considering the a.b.v.) booze heat.
Hard to describe, really...but it's glorious.
