This “Slightly sweeter but still dark and double barreled” component of our Deconstructed Stout is 2023 Deth’s Tar, rebarreled for two additional months in a Russell’s Reserve bourbon barrel. Not originally slated for the On & On Pt. III blend, this component was included to bolster sweetness without detracting from roastiness or alcohol concentration.

On & On Part 3 Component Three pours black, with a small, tan head. The aroma is sweet, black licorice. The flavor is huge and bold, with lots of sweet bourbons, barrels, and black licorice. Good feel. It is a huge stout that tastes like traditional and classic bourbon barrel-aged stout.

Had at the taproom for the Deep Wood release of 1/26/24. Very nice. Now, this one I could get behind for being canned. It is a little bit sweet, though.

I had this on draft 1/26/24 @ Revolution's Taproom.
Black/brown appearance.
Small tan head; almost no lacing remained.
Fudge, raspberry, plum, oak & bourbon notes in the nose. Enticing.
Thick, flat mouthfeel.
Dark chocolate, plum & oak flavors up front; fudge & bourbon heat notes on the finish.
Smells amazing & tastes pretty great too; not for the faint of heart, but for Deep Wood heads, this is a big winner.
