This sweet component Straight Jacket was rested for two years in a single Old Fitzgerald bourbon barrel with a double shot of fire-toasted French oak. A chorus of malt-derived brown sugar, maple, and crème brûlée is flanked by orchestral musings of vanilla, brioche, cherry, and ashen earth from the pair of woods. As V.S.O.J. 2024's "Money Barrel", it may be the finest single barrel of Barleywine we've ever produced.

I had this on draft 7/24/24 @ Revolution's taproom.

Dark brown appearance.

Small tan head; no lacing remained.

Wood, mild caramel & faint cognac notes up front in the nose; deep vanilla emerged as this warmed.

Thick, sticky mouthfeel.

Rich caramel & deeep wood (no pun intended) flavors up front; red berry & mild booze heat notes on the finish. As this warmed, cream soda flavors emerged.

Insanely easy to drink with depth & great flavors. A borderline masterpiece.
