10/25/24 - Revolution Taproom (Chicago, IL). $7 plus tax 16 oz draft pour into a pint nonic glass. Robust Porter on Nitro, 6.8% ABV.
Appearance: Black to dark chestnut brown base, creamy rich white light tan creamy head lasts for ages. Looks great. 4.5
Aroma: Chocolate, roast malt, mild plus in strength, higher in enjoyment. 3.75
Taste: Consistent with aroma, stronger, added sweetness with toffee and caramel, nice roast malt and bitter hop hops helps fight for balance, but sweet overall. 4.25
Mouthfeel: Silky smooth with nitro, medium body, slightly watery. Balanced to sweet, overall balance well done reigning in excess sweetness. Drinks light and easier at least perceived than the higher ABV. Milk chocolate and caramel finish. 4.0
Overall: This is a solid Porter and nitro offering. Sweeter than I typically like, but like this one. Will order again, either Nitro or standard draft if I see down the line. 4.25
