This tenth installment of our Sanctuary Series is a single cask blend of two leaky Imperial Stout barrels, one Lynott’s Milk Stout from a WhistlePig ten year Rye cask, and the other Deth’s Tar Oatmeal Stout from a young Four Roses barrel. Aged a total of five years, this time-capsule in a glass is a wildly concentrated expression of oak, booze, and highly aged raisiny malt.

I had this on draft 6/20/25 @ Revolution's Taproom.
Black appearance.
Almost no dark tan head; no lacing remained.
Dark chocolate, blackberry, wood & faint plum notes in the nose. This smells great.
Thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Dark chocolate, raisin & wood flavors up front; blackberry & mild bourbon heat on the finish.
Barrel aged ambrosia. Amazing.

Had on tap. Midnight body with a dark brown cap that slowly fades away. Usually my rule on BA beers is anything beyond 3 years is trouble. But I have to start with the feel here because it is crazy how smooth and full with rich barrel character they got this to be! It is warm, chewy without being too thick, heavy but not a chore, rather a warm embrace on the palate. It is boozy for sure but it is dialed in. The smell has those barrels powerfully, especially the rye and molasses, with minor notes of toffee, biscuit, dark chocolate, roast, and brown sugared dark fruits with a kiss of vanillins. Taste has the same elements but the non-sweeter ones are stronger. Very balanced given the extended aging, bravo!
