Today marks my first day off in a week, following six (6) ten & a-half (10.5)-hour days! I just started a job as a sorter in the post office & we are busy, busy, busy. I am tired, tired, tired, but getting used to the pace, the hours & the pay! 8=) The start of today will be Stout Sunday before switching to something else. For me, too many Stouts are as binding as cheese for some people. 8=p

I wonder how thirsty I will be after this one since sweet stuff is not my forte. I prefer bitter, hoppy, bittersweet (at most), but I am always game for a new beer, beginning with a Crack! of the vent. Having acCANplished that, I beCAN a steady C-Line Glug in the hopes of causing a pseudo-cascade.
This was perhaps too successful CAN endeavor since it produced two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, deep-tan/light-brown head with excellent retention, seemingly refusing to fall away. Color was stygian Black/Opaque (SRM = 44), allowing ZERO light penetration. Nose was pleasantly roasty with a bittersweet chocolate quality. Mmm. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was more bitter than I had expected, but that was okay by me. It tasted like liquefied dark fudge with a bittersweet chocolate presence. Finish was semi-dry. This was odd since its name & description set me up to expect sweetness & this was the furthest thing from it. Hmm. CANveat emptor! YMMV.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a black color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of roasted malts, chocolate. Taste is roasted malts, smokey, light chocolate and oats. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall it ain't bad, but based on the descriptions on the can, I was expecting a much more chocolate forward beer.

Very nice Oatmeal Stout with big upfront chocolate. Very tasty. Smooth easy sipper. Well rounded.
FWIW...While TT has seemed to aim more for popular trends in IPAs; now sours...I believe they do a very good job with Porters and Stouts.
