Pours a hazey copper amber. Decent head with average lacing. Smells of delicious caramel, oak, sweet malt, and candied yams. Taste is a mellowed bourbon start, nice malted caramel profile, easy going Bourbon heat finish. The Elijah barrels are evident from start to finish. I tried this blind and couldn't figure if it were a Belgium strong ale or lighter English Barleywine. The fact that it's an BA English strong ale brings to light the creativity of the brewery. A fantastic offering packed full of Bourbon caramel goodness. Love this brew!

This was an okay offering, but kind of meh. Lots of malts and fruity notes in flavor and aroma. Little barrel presence in the beer. Slightly boozy. High point was that it was drinkable for a 10% abv barrel aged beer.

Probably not exactly to style, but not really too far off. Tasty, but not in the strong range, like a HoTD strong
Smell: a little floral.
Taste: not overpowering, drinkable, should be a bit heavier.
Mouthfeel: smooth for the style.
Overall: if you do not like strong ales, this may be a bit more on your style, no harshness, quite drinkable.
