Served in a tumbler at Mundelein Brewfest 2014.
Sidling over to the Pig Minds area for a new saison. It pours a partly hazy pale brass topped by a finger of lightly off-white foam. The nose comprises mild cracked wheat, flowers, grass, light greenery, a few twists of lemon and orange, a pinch of black pepper, and the vague sense of straw. The taste brings in more of the same, a bit more fruit in there, but not too much. Not much in the way of either Belgian yeastiness or farmhouse character, though... The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. Overall, an okay beer, but there's not real saison character to it, more like a slightly wheated pale ale or something of that sort. Still, not bad, but nothing all that impressive.
