an excellent beer, apparently a blend of two different saisons that they do. the yeasts here are awesome, i would guess a french and a belgian strain, and the result is a beer unlike any others. incredibly heady on the pour, airy white rising head well above the rim of the glass and holding on, incredibly light but prolific. it is a thicker base beer, hazy almost even milky, with some sediment visible, rustic and unrefined for sure. the nose is soft orchard fruit and the notes from the belgian yeast of candy sugar and baking spices. maybe apples and bananas too there, some grassy hops, but all very well integrated. tons of wheat in the base, likely some oats too as this has plenty of body and texture. i have heard good things about these guys, and i am surprised its taken me so long to finally get to try one of their beers. this is delicious and different, benefiting enormously from an interesting and unconventional blend of yeasts if my palate serves me correctly. this makes me incredibly keen to try more of their stuff. definitely not the most delicate take on the style, but i like its uniqueness a whole lot.
