Wanted for this to work as I really enjoy their saisons. Does have faint funky barn aroma & flavor, but it's all drowned out by more dominant porter/brown ale-like toasted maltiness. Overall, a bit disappointed as this drink far more like a brown/black ale than the saison I was hoping for.

Decent porter, in which case I’d prefer a creamier head. But it’s not. Not much to this - I don’t get any unique yeast flavors, unremarkable hops other than proper bittering, and can’t taste any ‘seasonals’. Won’t buy again.

Pours black, as the name suggests.
Thin layer of mocha tinted head, doesn't hang around, laces nicely.
Not much to the aroma, faint coffee beans and dust.
Crisp front-end, creamy in the middle, roasty and dry on a lengthy finish.
90%-dark chocolate, a bit of hay and grass, ever licked a stone and enjoyed it?
Satisfying, frequent sipper, hits a little bit of everything on the palate without excelling in any particular area.
Bring it to a party of various tastes and give them something unique to agree on.
