Reptilian Shadow Government from HenHouse Brewing. 16 fl oz can, received 18/05/26, in a ninja strike from @2beerdogs. Stored at 40 degrees F at home. Reviewed 21/05/26, review 3731. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Bottom of can stamped “03/16/26”. Served at 45.5 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature is 52.3 degrees F.
Appearance – 4.
First pour – Pale Gold (SRM 4), opaque.
Body – Pale Gold (SRM 4), opaque. Under direct light, same. When rear-lit, same.
Head – Large (Maximum 4.5 cm, aggressive center pour). Alabaster, high density, average duration; the head drops to a 0.8 – 1.1 cm crown, and a complete, rocky cap. As the head collapses, multiple bands of near-microscopic to tiny bubbles remain.
Lacing – Good. Multiple bands of near-microscopic to tiny bubbles remain as the beer level drops. These bands quickly become lacey.
Aroma – 4 – Weak citrus.
Flavor – 4 – Slightly bitter. Weakly citrus, but no obvious flavors. No alcohol (8.6 % according to the label). No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Mild gastric warming.
Palate – 4 – Medium: Creamy: Soft but lively carbonation.
Style: Follows the BA style description.
Final impression and summation: 4 Uncredited label art. Very mild but pleasing flavor combination, caresses the taste buds. Although this is past the “canning date + 60 days” freshness period, this is still a pleasing potion. Ballsy proposition “If you ever come across one of our beers past its freshness date or stored outside of a cooler, please let us know!! Send an email to [email protected]”. Sounds like a company that cares about their product and their customers!

Appearance: Pours a pale, translucent orange color, with a soapy white foam head. Quite retentive.
Aroma: Pineapple, citrus, and bannana. A little bit of dankiness.
Taste: Boozie and tropical fruits up front. Starts out immediately dominated by a nice bitter smack to the palate which then slightly tapers down just enough to balance harmoniously with juicy citrus fruit peel in the mid. The boozy, bitter, and citrus notes linger all the way through the finish.
Overall: This is quite an exceptional double IPA. It's like if a New England and a West Coast had a baby. Not regretting this one at all.

Two weeks old
L: Golden orange and completely opaque. Minimal head.
S: Citrus but hard to place beyond that as the smell is much subtler for a hazy DIPA.
T: A bit more West Coast than I was expecting from this beer but not in a bad way. The bitter overpowered the juice at first but a quarter of the way through everything started to fit together.
F: A bit high on the carbonation for my taste but I'm a hater in that aspect.
O: The reptiles can take over if this is what we get in return.
