Served in a standard shaker at The Saucer on 4/7/13. Pours a cloudy golden-yellow color, very cloudy with fairly good light penetration. There wasn't a lot of head on the beer, which may have been rectified with a more appropriate glass, but I felt that the lack of head retention was a bit of a negative given the style. The nose, though, was spot on overall. There was a hearty clove smell that took center stage with some hints of banana and banana bread, freshly baked. The taste featured that same flavor of cloves and banana bread with a strong hop bite at the back in. The bite wasn't terrible and set to keep the palate nice and clean. It almost had a spicy wit character, but it was still firmly a hefe. The mouthfeel was nice and full with maybe a touch of overcarbonation. Overall, this is a strong offering in the hefeweizen category. I would definitely order it again.
