A tiny little shop with a great selection of local, national, and Belgian craft beer. I go to The Bier Cellar when I need something I know I won't find elsewhere. They have some cannings/bottlings I never thought I'd find out here, and it's my go-to place for certain staples of mine. The staff are friendly enough, and will allow you to break off singles of anything in the store, EXCEPT beer in the coolers. I will not shop for beer in any shop that doesn't sell singles. My only one major complaint is the price they charge for singles, and for certain "hyped" beers. I'm talking up to $10 per single 16oz can. That's a more extreme example, but even more realistic things are insanely overpriced as singles. I expect to pay a little bit more for single cans, but I feel they go a little overboard with some of their prices. Nevertheless, they have a good selection, and I'll continue to pop in every now and then. When I can afford to.

Small indescribable storefront just off of 295

The quality and Selection are amazing. Tons of local Maine Brewers such as Maine Brewing, Allagash, Bissell Brothers, Foundation, etc. Plus he gets some beers that i cannot find in the northeast . Have found Hoof Hearted and this time I found Jester king. Also has a nice selection of New England beers CBC, Lor Hobo, Derivative , von Trapp, etc. Grabbed a Grimm Artisanl I had been looking for. Will break multi packs and you can buy singles. Good website so you can preview before visiting

Knowledgeable guy behind the counter

Highly recommended and repeatable

Just west of 295, down the street from the Great Lost Bear and RSVP, this stellar little clean place is entirely dedicated to good to high end craft beer. He does get some meads and ciders in here, but can be slightly biased towards what he wants in the store, nothing wrong with that to me, just shows that he wants to run a top notch store. With that in mind, he even makes sure the light coming in the window is kept to a minimum and even sets the beers closest to the window a bit further back just so that they don't become "lightstruck." Because of this, his care and respect for craft beer allowed this store to be a fantastic place in the Portland area for beer geeks to check out. Selection is quite good. Prices are reasonable. Owner is super friendly and willing to talk with anyone on what he can get for you.

Very wide selection, knowledgeable staff, descriptive labels and a really interesting layout to the store. It's a small but cleanly organized store with a simple but uniquely eye catching way of setting out their beers.

Sweet bottle shop with the regional selection you would expect. All the goodies too, Founders BS, Sixpoint, locals and nationals. Has cider and mead as well so you should find something you like.

The go to place in Portland on the right coast if you don't want to wait in line and fight for a parking spot on Industrial Way on a Saturday afternoon. Really knowledgeable owners/staff who leave you alone until you are clear you want some help. Nice spacious layout in an easy to access location by car. Helpful descriptions of the beers on the shelves. Good cider selection, which is what first drew me in. I'll never be satisfied with selection, but Bier Cellar is about as good as you can get without waiting in line at the brewery

I've stopped in here a few times because it is convenient off 295 in Portland. My most recent trip was last week on the way up to Augusta for work. Great selection of Maine brewed beers. Banded horn, Marshall's wharf, Funky Bow, Maine Beer, Baxter, etc Nice selection imports as well as domestics with easily 500 labels in house. Some wine and mead as well as a section for cider. It was a late Sunday afternoon and the guy behind the counter was helpful and seemed knowledgeable. I managed to find a dozen or so new beers to try without much trouble. Pricing seemed a bit higher than I'm used to, but could be a Portland thing. I wouldn't hesitate stopping in next time I'm in the area.
