At first I was going to call bs on the designation of this being a adjunct lager, then I went to the kirin website and read up and found out that this really is nothing more than an adjunct lager. After tasting the beer too, I think that it is a shame to use the word wheat (komugi is japanese for wheat) for anything relating to this beer. It tastes like an adjunct lager, it looks like an adjunct lager, it smells like an adjunct lager, there is nothing specific or peculiar or refreshing about this beer. This beer sucks. Up until now I have occasionally had a Kirin Stout in a pinch, and even a heartland, but after this crap, they have lost all credibility. Avoid like the plague.

Tiny bubble cream foam top pretty impressive for a Japanese happoshu, widens and laces. Clear gold, watery-looking body. Light bitter hop presence in the the otherwise sweet dishwater smell.
Astringent--really more burning than citric--taste offends the throat and unfortunately seems to be the main taste of the beer. Seems crazy unbalanced. A sweet grain taste evolves as the beer warms.
