L- Medium+ amber colour, clear, pours with 3mm white head that dissipates pretty fast.
S- Hard to pin down, an overall sense of richer fruitiness.
T- I get aspects that remind me of a weissbrau, a sense of mild spicing. I am definitely getting a mild zing on my tongue. It also has decent hopping (esp considering it's Japanese, who tend not to favour bitter flavours). There is a moderately rich fruit'ish element in there too but hard to pin down anything more specific.
F- Feels a touch above it's 6.0% ABV. Brings way more feel/presence than most mass-market JPnese beers.
O- ... But at a price, esp. when bought as an import! £7.99/350ml can bought from Ichiba, London W12. BB: 01/2020. It's a decent beer, though I won't be buying it again at that price.

Aroma: mild and lightly spicy from hops.
Flavor: Aftertaste of spicy and herbal hops, light bread and steamed rice. Bitterness is about average for style.
Medium body with medium+ carbonation.
Overall: a mediocre Japanese lager, despite the name.

JPL stands for a Japanese Pale Lager, following the naming of either the Indian or the American Pale Ale. The recent growing craft beer trend is perhaps lead by Kirin among the commercial makers, a year or two ago they created an Indian Pale Lager, now they made it original and made it Japanese.
What is it exactly? It is a quite smooth and soft lager, perhaps adjunct? but still clean and easy to drink, in the Japanese fashion - hopped to achieve a slight bitter aftertaste and perhaps even slightly dry hopped to have a distinct hop smell in the nose. Not American hops, I guess. Could be all Japanese, hence the naming?
It is quite okay overall, a bit watery though but serves the purpose well.
