Rating as a Japanese Rice Lager, which i am under the belief it is. And as that, it's good stuff. Tightly focused, light and extremely crisp and creamy. Well done. Probably the best beer I've had from Kirin.

Okay first and foremost I need to say that this is not what you can get in the shops or on tap! This is the real Ichiban Shibori (first wort press) you can only get if you go on a factory visit tour in any of the brewery's factories all around Japan. I was lucky to go to the Fukuoka factory in Asakura and had this at the end, together with two other beers.
As a beer lover's common sense, this is bound to be great as it just came off the press a day or two ago. A normal canned Kirin might taste quite mediocre, but this one was amazing: blasting with Saaz hops, full of fruitiness in the nose and in taste, smooth and mild in flavor, easy to drink - the best commercial beer ever in Japan, so fresh and lively!
Wish the Kirin Ichiban Shibori would come near to this, as this one was really outstanding! Recommend a tour to everyone, it is free and includes 3 beers, one is this fresh draft, and is open seven days a week!
